WINTER

The Ore Mountains undoubtedly have a lot to offeer especially to skiers and snowboarders. Klinovec Ski Resort, the largest ski resort in the Ore Mountains, offers 31.5 km of pistes of all levels of difficulty, including blue, red and black. In addition, skiers and snowboarders can also have fun in the snow park, fun park or on the ski cross course. Both beginners and experienced athletes will enjoy Klinovec.

Even cross-coutnry skiers will not be bored in Klinovec and its surroundings. In the nearness of Klinovec, there are 5 cross-country trails with lenghts ranging from 4.5 to 15.5 km maintained by Klinovec Ski Resort. One of these routes i salso part of the Krusnohorska cross-country highway. But the list of cross-country trails does not end here, others might be found, for example, in the vicinity of Abertamy, Bozi Dar or Pernink. Bozi Dar also offers the possibility of other winter sports such as snow tubing and snow kiting.

Last but not least, if you are looking for a place where you can Relax, you can visit the Agricola spa center in Jachymov. Agricola offers a swimming pool, a water slide for children, a rehabilitation pool and also a sauna world where you can find a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna, an infrared sauna and a herbal sauna. And if you visit the Ore Mountains in the Christmas time, set aside some time to go to the Christmas market in Annaberg-Buchholz.

SUMMER

In the summer, Klinovec will delight you with the number of hiking trails. In Loucna pod Klinovcem, it is possible to walk along a 16 km long educational trail leading through the northern surroundings of Klinovec. The youngest children will certainly like the 3 km long and easy educational trails passing through the National Nature Reserve in Bozi dar bog. You may find in Bozi dar also the Baby Jesus route (Jeziskova cesta), where tourists can choose between a shorter (5.6 km) and a longer (12.9 km) circuit. Baby Jesus‘ route begins at the at the info center in Bozi dar. Before Christmas, the Jesus post office is operating here. From Bozi dar, you can go along the nature trail to the natural monument Vlci jamy in Horni Blatna.

In the spa town of Jachymov, there is an 8.5 km long trail called Jachymov Hell (Jachymovské Peklo), which (despite the name) i salso suitable for strolles. The educational Radon trail is slightly shorter (2.5 km). A visit to Jachymov might be combined with a visit of the local spa complex.

In addition to hiking, the Ore Mountains will delight cyclists as well. Interesting destionations can be, for example, Hauenstejn castle, Hasistejn castle, the defunct settlement of Ryzovna near Bozi dar, ort he route leading under Meluzina – a rocky hill, the top of which is accessible on foot. The top of Meluzina offers a breathtaking view of Klinovec. In addition to countless easier and more difficult cycling routes, the surroundings of Klinovec will also delight really demanding cyclists. Trailpark Klinovec offers trails of four levels of difficulty, so both adrenaline junkies and families with children can choose what they prefer. The most difficult trail in Trailpark Klinovec is Downhill.

However, hiking and cycling do not have to be he only activities. Klinovec offers, for example, the possibility to use the high rope parks. It is laso worthwhile to go to the German side of the Ore Mountains, for example to the highest Herman town of Oberwiesenthal. Children will certainly like the bobsleigh track in Oberwiesenthal. And if the weather is not in your favor, visit the aqua center in Jachymov ort he aquapark in Schöneck or Marrienberg.
